Transformation of Chess
This was another in class project. We were supposed to pick an object (I chose the game of chess) and determine what it's essence is. Once we had studied and analyzed our object, we then had to express that essence by creating a physical model. As I studied the game of chess I realized that every thing had an opposite. When one person attacks the other person defends, one gains a piece, the other looses. I felt that yin-yang was a very appropriate representation of this idea. The other defining concept was the power of choice; the game of chess is not based on chance or probability but on the choices of the individuals playing the game.
